Over the years, the fashion and footwear industry has ignored the importance of caring for
the environment. The reality is that while production in this sector has experienced an
increase in recent years, the planet’s state of health, in turn, has deteriorated.
At Muris, we are aware of this and would like to be more demanding with our production
dynamics in order to favour a more sustainable world. We have therefore decided to pay
attention to the planet and give it the care it needs.
We use materials that are organic, recycled and respectful towards the environment.
Our production processes contribute to reducing the carbon footprint of our products.
We promote and help to boost the circular economy
Against Unsustainable Practices
Leather, one of the materials used the most in the manufacture of footwear, represents approximately 3.8 million bovine animals for production. Furthermore, hide tanning processes involve disproportionate amounts of water and the excess use of toxic products. All this has a direct impact on the environment, animals and human beings.
POR CADA 2 BOTELLAS DE VINO PRODUCIDAS, SE GENERA UNA BOTELLA DE RESIDUOS DE UVA
We very often think that organic materials are disposable simply because they’ve already been used once. At Muris, we are very aware of the fact that giving waste a second life is not only possible and feasible, it is also a solution for beginning to care for the environment and assuring a more sustainable future in the long term.
There is an ever-increasing number of plant materials that can be used as an alternative to the conventional use of leather. After considerable research, trials and testing, at Muris we have decided on 3 ingredients that, in addition to being organic and vegan, are highly flexible and light weight.
